Sometimes when I’m dreaming

Back in 1995 I owned a japanese toy store called Neo-Tokyo & The Oversized Monster Cafe. Not only was it a pretty fun place to hangout but there was a 4 track recorder in my office which made certain days even more fun. We had a crazy cast of regulars who stopped in and hung around the store and one of them was named Kanto. He ate Little Ceasar’s pizza like it was going out of style, and sometimes he would describe his nightmares to me and the other regulars. Of course, we recorded a song with him. He didn’t know it was going to be a song, we recorded the music and lyrics before hand and then just told Kanto to talk about a nightmare into the microphone to be saved for a project later. Now, I release to the internet that beautiful song. Please enjoy “Sometimes when I’m dreaming”

Degeneration …from a old terrible tape.

Since I am in the process of converting my terrible tape collection I thought I would start posting some of the what I find more amusing stuff on here. No one wanted them and now here they are, 2 tracks from Degeneration. The first song is a cover of “Butcher Block” by Boom and the Legion of Doom and the second song is a Degeneration original called “Reagan was a Hippy”. Both songs were recorded in a basement in Madison Heights, Michigan in 1986. The songs were recorded on an old, even then old, cassette recorder without any microphones. Also I just added a live track from one of our shows at The Ice Pick in Muskegon, Michigan. The song is called “14 Bucks” haha the opening lyrics are…
“I woke up this morning, coughing up some phlem.
I looked in the mirror, and didn’t look so slim.
There’s an ulcer in my stomach, it’s a fucking rotten pit,
it must have been from all that macaroni shit.
I can’t run a block, god this really sucks.
Puke, puke, puke I feel like 14 bucks.
I can’t do push-ups, like all those macho fucks.
Cough, cough, cough I feel like 14 bucks”.

Listen to this bonus footage as John talks about Zender’s chicken and Splash Village in Frankenmuth, MI. Either way here is an extra 5 minutes from The Oddist Episode 17 of Season 2 “Old People vs. Germans”. Enjoy.
